But people with immune suppression may have slower and weaker responses to natural infection or vaccination, so it is especially important that they get their second dose on schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People with serious immune suppression are at risk for more severe complications and death due to\u00a0COVID-19. This group includes cancer patients who use immune-suppressing therapy, transplant recipients who take\u00a0immunosuppressive\u00a0drugs to prevent organ rejection and\u00a0people with AIDS\u00a0(advanced, uncontrolled\u00a0HIV\u00a0disease).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is well known that\u00a0immunosuppressed\u00a0people can have weaker immune responses to natural infection and vaccination, but\u00a0SARS-CoV-2 immunity in this population is not well understood.
