Live vaccinations may be safe and effective for protection against measles, mumps, and varicella in certain pediatric recipients who have had a solid organ transplant, according to an investigation published earlier this month inĀ JAMA Network Open.

Historically, guidelines have recommended against using live vaccines in certain immunocompromised individuals, such as those receiving a solid organ transplant (SOT).
